The Inaugural Military Hurdle

By April 12, 2017Events

Cast yourself back to early this year – remember Guy Disney’s incredible double at the Royal Artillery Gold Cup and the Grand Military Gold Cup?

His victory has without a doubt raised the profile of horse racing for service people. As a result the Cavalry and Guards Club, of whom he is a member, is organising a new race to continue to raise awareness and celebrate Disney’s spectacular achievement.

Wincanton Racecourse will host the inaugural Military Hurdle Race on Sunday 23rd April. The day will feature the Dick McCreery Military Handicap Hurdle Race.

Tickets have been discounted for military personnel and families when purchased in advance. This £10 ticket also allows the use of the Members’ Enclosure tent. The Cavalry and Guards Club are expecting a great deal of interest and support.

Tickets are available via the website or racecourse office (01963 435 840) using the code STGD2017. This offer lasts until midnight on 22nd April.

Gates open at 12noon , the first race commences at 1.50pm.
Children under 17 go free.
