What to do if you need to make a claim
We understand that making a claim will usually be at a stressful time for you, so we are committed to give you an excellent service. We have set 4 standards to make sure we meet your needs:

How to report a claim
First check your policy wordings to make sure that what you want to claim for is covered.
When you contact us we can help you faster if you follow our 7 Point Checklist below and collect the key facts for making a claim
- Your membership number
- Your preferred contact telephone number
- Your address
- Time and date of the incident or when you discovered it
- Description of what happened and what caused it
- The action you have already taken (such as informing the police)
- How much you think the claim will cost
Who to contact
For motor claims
- Call on 0800 088 2285 between 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 6pm on Saturdays
The claims representative will take your personal details and transfer you to the insurer claims service which will take the relevant details.
Before you call please make sure you have:
- Registration number of any other vehicles involved in the accident
- Witness contact details
- If possible photos of the accident and damage to vehicles involved
If your vehicle breaks down
- Contact the Call Assist 24 hour control centre on 0333 000 2085
- If you are unable to make a connection, telephone 00 44 1206 785846
- Please have the following information ready:
- Your return telephone number
- Your vehicle registration
- The precise location of your vehicle (or as close as possible in the circumstances)
- If your vehicle is fitted with alloy wheels
Important points to remember:
If you are involved in any kind of motor accident, injury to others or if any property is stolen, you must inform the police as soon as possible. Make sure you ask them for an incident number that you can give to us.
Until you have spoken to us and the insurer has agreed what action to take, please DO NOT:
- Admit responsibility to anyone else involved or make any offer to them
- Arrange any kind of replacement or repair of the damage
